OUR
STORY
WHEN WE MET
Like most modern love stories, ours started online. After trawling the internet Emily accidentally 'favourited' Johnny and so it started. Our first date took place in a bar in Kelham Island (now our home). A slightly disastrous second date was saved by one of Johnny's jokes - "On a scale of one to Michael Barrymore how much did I mess up?" - and the rest is history!
TRAVELLING
After a collection of excellent holidays, Emily persuaded Johnny to quit his job and travel around Asia. We had a fantastic start in India, followed by northern Thailand and Laos. Unfortunately Covid-19 had other ideas for the rest of our plans, and after spending six weeks locked down in a hotel room in Thailand together, we decided to call it quits and head home. Fortunately we have been on some incredible holidays since, and managed to head back to South East Asia earlier this year.
MOVED IN TOGETHER
It turns out moving into Emily's house together during lockdown was a tricky business, but after a brief 'binning-off' (Johnny's words) we decided to buy a place together. What a great decision! We moved into our amazing house in Kelham Island and haven't looked back. We have since expanded our family with two adorable kitties (Gizmo and Tux).
HE PROPOSED
After heading back to South East Asia alongside Emily's best friend (and maid of honour extraordinaire) Gareth, Johnny surprised Emily by proposing after a very long and sweaty travel day whilst she was unpacking her pants! But we got to celebrate with pizza, beer and cocktails on the beach on the Island of Koh Rong in Cambodia – good work Johnny! We are really excited to celebrate our relationship with all of our favourite people!
AND SOON... WE ARE GETTING MARRIED
WHERE & WHEN
We are getting married in the Kelham Island area of Sheffield, which is our home and we LOVE it!
LOCATION
Peddler Warehouse
92 Burton Road, Neepsend, Sheffield S3 8BX
ARRIVAL
We have been asked to use the courtyard entrance to the warehouse - head towards depot bakery and keep walking.
Look out for the dinosaur balloon!
WHEN
We will kick things off at 2pm, so we recommend arriving between 1.30-1.45.
Due to ridiculous rules we cannot legally get married in the warehouse, so we'll have sneakily tied the knot a few days before. Therefore we will make sure the bar is open and we strongly encourage you to have a drink in hand during the ceremony.

Arrive - 2 – 2.30pm
Ceremony - 2.30 – 4pm
Drinks reception and photos - 4 – 7pm
Dinner and speeches - 7pm Onwards
Dancing and drinking - 9pm
Pizza - We have a fairly casual end time, but we are aiming to be out by midnight
WHERE TO STAY
The wedding is taking place is Kelham Island, Sheffield. Unfortunately there are no hotels in the immediate local area, but there are a few airbnbs close by. However, Sheffield city centre and the quayside are a short taxi ride (or a 20-25 minute walk) from Peddler Warehouse, and there are plenty of hotels to choose from.
Hampton by Hilton Sheffield
This is probably the closest hotel to the venue and we are reliably informed that they offer an excellent breakfast
Mercure Sheffield St Paul's Hotel & Spa
Nice hotel attached to Sheffield Winter gardens and Millennium galleries
Don't Miss It!
LOCAL
AREA
If anyone is in need of pre-wedding (or hangover!) fuel we can recommend several cafes/bars close to the wedding venue:
We would also recommend visiting one of Sheffield's many food halls:
FAQs
We are not able to accommodate pets.
We would recommend using Uber or Veezu (via apps). These can be pre-booked but there is usually no need.
There are also often black cabs driving around Kelham Island, especially on the main roads and these can be hailed down.
Given the central location, most places are walkable (depending on your choice of shoes!). It's also worth noting that Sheffield was built on seven hills, and we are at the bottom, so pretty much everywhere is uphill!
There is no specific dress code. We will be suited and booted, but there is no pressure to do likewise and we encourage you to be comfortable. We are, however, hoping to have a bright and colourful wedding day, so the brighter the better!

NO GIFTS!
We do love cards though, and would absolutely love to receive a card with a funny story or note in it to read when we have the post-wedding blues.
